Here is a really handy little accessory that can be used in bike travel bags to hold up your chain when the rear wheel is removed.

Another use for these is cleaning your chain.
Since the chain can slide freely through the guide, you can rotate the crank and clean the chain at the same time.

This assembly consists of a short spring-loaded quick release skewer attached to a molded plastic guide. It is clamped to the derailer dropout side and swiveled into position to give the proper chain tension.

Chain keepers hold your bike chain in place (with the short QR provided with the chain keeper) when the rear wheel is removed and the bike is put in a box/case for shipping.

It only fits on the chain side and once installed, no other item can be inserted in the drop-out.
