Description

Please note, that the manufacturer requires kits to be shipped to a bike shop only.
We will gladly ship your GREENSPEED to the bike shop of your choice.
At the Bike Shop a professional can complete the assembly of your Greenspeed Trike.

Then just fax a copy of your assembly receipt to us and write your order number on it.

The GT1 is a small trike with a big personality.
Designed as an easily transportable trike so that you can fold it up to fit in your car or to take up less space in your shed.
It's quick fold is achieved with only a 6mm Allen key for the single seat bolt and one quick release for the frame hinge.

This trike is ideal for commuters with a no fuss 8 speed Nexus internally geared rear hub.
The Nexus provides for shifting whilst stationary or on the move with a twist shifter.
The cranks feature chain rings guards to keep you clean and the chain in place.
Made in a small and standard size, you should find one to suit you.
Maximum rider/accessory weight:265 Lbs

OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES
If the Greenspeed accessory you are looking for is not listed, just e-mail us for a price quote.

Headrest
The GS headrest is made to fit  behind the nape of your neck, and just under the back of your helmet.
Headrest frames are made from Cromoly, the locking wedges from aluminum and the pad is a closed cell foam.
To seal the seat tube off from the elements, 'o'rings are included with your purchase.
The headrest is adjustable up and down, fore and aft to give near-perfect support.
It is best set up just a little behind the ideal position so that your eyeballs don't pop out of their sockets on those gravel sections of your ride!
Flag mounts are also fitted as you will have lost your original seat mounting

Rear Rack
Greenspeed's most popular accessory.

Fender Set
The GS front fender set is designed to fit a G1 or a G3 Greenspeed trike that has a mirror post.
This newer design enables you to more permanently fit your mirror post on first; then use a hex key to mount the fender set.
The two pinch clamps provide for plenty room for adjustment, up and down on the post, in and out on the bar-end, plus rotation.
This allows you to sit it as close as you like, or with heaps of mud clearance

Eight Reasons to Buy A GREENSPEED

The Ride.
Once you see a Greenspeed, you will invariable find that there is NO comparison.
Steering on a Greenspeed has been so finely tuned that you only need to think about where you want to go... and you're there!
At any speed you'll feel safe and in control, with plenty of road feedback to tell you what's going on.
Plus, the comfort of the ride makes the experience sheer pleasure.

Unceasing Development.
At Greenspeed they don't rest on our laurels--  they are always thinking there's a better way to do things.
Greenspeed has been an industry leader in the conception and development of new ideas that many others end up adopting and using as their own.
All the Greenspeed team have trike experience and bring that experience to the design table, avoiding assumptions on what a recumbent trike should be.

Reliability.
Greenspeed has been making and improving trikes longer than anybody in the trike industry!!!
They carefully fashion, make or choose each component that goes into a trike--  considering, first, its long-term reliability and quality, then value for money.

The Seat.
Some of the seats have been chiropractor-designed to provide the rider with maximum bodily support.
They're not just a bunch of tubes thrown together at some angle because they look good that way! (Which they do as well.)
The tubes are then covered with a UV-resistant nylon mesh and laced with absorbent elastic cord, so chosen and designed to absorb most of the road shock in order to help cushion you from the wear-and-tear of long miles or to help get you to work in comfort.

The Drivetrain.
Another example of Greenspeed's unceasing development.
Their drivetrain has seen many changes since they started building trikes in 1990, from chains you could hear before you saw the trike, to a transmission that feels as if the pedals were connected directly to the back wheel.
Their Delrin toothed chain guide pulley is widely known and often supplied on other manufacturers' recumbents because of its quiet and proficient operation.
The tubing used to guide the chain is custom-made for us, and is not the off-the-shelf water pipe regularly used by others.
The chain to the rear wheel is linked gingerly and with minimum deviations to keep it efficient.

Materials.
We often get asked why Greenspeed usees chrome moly (known also as chromoly or cromoly) steel on their frames.
They use this type of high-tensile steel as it is particularly sturdy when used in a non-triangulated configuration.
In other words, if a structure features no supporting or bracing tubes, a lot of flex will occur in the frame members.
Chrome moly steel is great at absorbing these stresses, having thrice the strength of mild steel.
As well, its fatigue life is far superior to that of metals such as aluminum.
Due to its lightness they now also use aluminum on certain parts, including the handlebars, crank extension (the adjustable frame section containing the cranks), steering rods and our sturdy custom-designed racks.

Parts.
Greenspeed not only makes world-class trikes, they have parts specifically made for them that are a cut above the rest.
From the Delrin pulleys to disc brake hubs to special kingpin components to their own tires!
Their famous Scorcher tires are the result of our quest for a tire that rolls better, grips the road robustly and is more efficient at lower pressures.

The Looks.
Lastly, Greenspeed is not in the habit of going by external appearances but we do have to admit it-- their trikes look good!
They are stylish, attractive and keep their good looks.
The range of color options is breath-taking and the exceptional quality of its paintwork has brought Greenspeed compliments from all over the world.
