Diameter/Length: 1.7mm x 1.7m - Brake Cordz are compatible with all types of 5mm housing and work best when used with high quality alloy ferrules. Pre-lubed Kevlar Housing Weight: 45g/m - An uncut 1.8m section weighs 72g Diameter/Length: 5.5mm x 1.8m The MAGIC behind Power Cordz: Power Cordz™ utilize a synthetic fiber called Zylon HM or PBO. It is stronger than steel and twice as strong as Kevlar. PBO is a rigid-rod isotropic crystal polymer that has superior tensile strength and modulus of elasticity. Simply stated - Zylon is very stiff and strong, it’s superior cable material. A slick nylon protective coating encases around 10,000 PBO fibers. The cord is then bonded (using a top-secret patented process) to a high quality anodized anchor. The bond has a breaking strength of over 600 lbs which is the same as steel at 25% the weight of steel. Power Cordz housing is pre-lubed with special Teflon grease to withstand water and is formulated to stay put in the housing where it belongs. Power Cordz sealed ferrules are made of alloy to prevent bending and housing deformation. Power Cordz are lined to reduce friction and sealed to keep out the grit. These small details ensure your Cordz operate flawlessly for many years. EZ-Bend housing segments are included to aid with the tight bends encountered when running housing on drop bars. Plus, EZ-Bend segments prevent the tedious need to re-wrap your bars in the event you need to remove your handlebar (think shipping). The Power Cordz system is far superior to the cheap cables & housing found on even the most high-end road bikes. Power Cordz equals weight savings, durability, and shift precision to build a cable system that every a high end bicycle deserves. RELIABILITY: Road Brake Cordz have a lifespan of three years from the date they are manufactured. Although they are proven to last much longer we recommend you replace your Cordz accordingly. Each set of Brake Cordz have an expiration date printed on the package, please take notice and record this date. Three years is a long time to safely run any type of brake cable so we feel this is an adequate life for the performance you receive with Power Cordz. As with All bike cables, be sure to check your Cordz before each ride to be sure they are in safe working order. If you notice the nylon casing is worn or if the fibers are cut replace them immediately.
